You forgot one skill..........Discordance...

Although I don't have anything for under 50 skill... what I did for discord was:

50-80 -- Giant Beetle
80-95 -- Drake
95-100 -- Nightmare

It was very quick. Discord doesn't have much of a CD.

Another economic way for blacksmithy, is to smelt everything you craft! You will get half of the ingots used for it for each things you smelt.

not necessarily economic since you won't be getting return for the other half of the ingots... but sure you'll gm with a reduced number of starting ingots, but sure you'll lose a lot of money in the process

Is the alchemy for this guide correct? isnt it 65-85 g poison then 85-100 g cure?

nah don't use this guide for alchemy, use the tradeskill guide it's more accurate. this one assumes you want to train poisoning too or something...

What about raising discordance? Do i just need to keep using it on larger and larger creatures.. like how taming is raised?

Re: A Comprehensive Guide to Skills and Skill Gain

Here is a good way to set up your mages macros for great gains. Once you have your regs and or lrc and w/e else you need go to a safe location (house or gaurded zone) and macro as follows;

Castspell Fireball (#18)
Wait For Target
Target Self (I didnt have anything else to target)
Pause 1.50sec
Castspell Heal (#04)

Final Notes:
LRC suits are extremely usefull in gaining magery using this macro setup. Try to get as much LRC as you possibley can.
Wearing spell channeling mage weapons with -skill. Mage gains are always easier when you have lower skill, thus a mage weapon that is spell channeling and brings down your skill is of much value.
Movement is always helpfull when you are gaining. If your server has the potential for 8x8 (which most do) then head to a server line and enable your macro.
The pause times also depend on your ammount of FC/FCR. If they are fizzeling from interuptions or you are not recovering fast enough, just increase the time.

Master, That's a good, very complex guide.. but there's a much easier way I believe.

Buy Magery up to 30 at mage shop.

Cast Invisibility to 75.0

Cast Mana Vampire from 75.0 - 100.0

Note: You will also gain Resist off Mana Vampire, just cast on yourself. Set up a macro. Invisibility is two regs, Mana Vampire is four. Somewhat cheap and quick. I just GMed 3 characters this week using this method. If you start at 0 you can get to GM in about 6-8 hours if you do it right. Maybe 10 at most over night. Remember to make sure you have 100 Int and you will GM Med doing this. Use this method first when building a character, any character with Magery.

Re: A Comprehensive Guide to Skills and Skill Gain

Amazing guide. I found one small detail when it says to gain magery from 50-65 by using mana drain, the mana drain only brings it up to 60.2 real skill I think. So I just went ahead and switched to ebolt earlier and worked like a charm. Thanks for the great guide!

You probably don't need the heal in this one. Save mana to cast the higher level spell.

First of, paralyze has never killed anyone so why even cast g-heal?
Second of, there are no LRC suits on Hybrid and third, there are better ways.

Yeah I might as well say thank you for the thread post. I've probably used it 5-6 times now to help me. Actually I just GM'd 2 skills thanks to this thread :)
