Black powder should be pretty stable. Do you keep it as a cake or crumble it?
I never had any issue with my home made black powder...I kept in a sealed plastic container with a 1/4 lb mesh bag of kitty litter(moisture). It's been years but only direct fire(duh), high heat (above 400 F), or really high pressure (idk exactly) should set it off. NONE of these should occur in a normal storage place.
