"Dueling" on Hybrid UO

Could anybody give a detailed explanation on how it works, and what the different types of duels are? (I.E. - 5x Mage, 7x Standard, etc). Thanks.

You duel, you get ranking, and there are lots of different flavors. Soon you can duel for items/money securely.

Can anybody give me a more specific answer on how the different types of duels work? The reason I ask is that I'm a tank/mage and somebody challenged me to a duel and I couldn't equip my sword. Which duel should I be using?
