Personally, I never give beggars anything. Rather I give them a few critical things:
Town Runebook
Full Spellbook
Dungeon Runebook
Power/Vanq less than 10 tactic weapons of their skill (10-20)
After that I ask their skill level. If they're a total noob, I show them escorts in Minoc, Skara, and Moonglow, and Britain. I get them familiar with the moongates. Teach them how the bank works. I give them their first steed and name it TheirNameFirstMount. I show them the cotton fields in Delucia and Skara. I show them the training fields at Jhelom fields. For semi-advanced players I show them Trins moongate for killing wisps and ettins, and how to utilize guards in case of emergency.
This thread sucks. It's purpose is for one asshole to gloat about what he's given, as opposed to silently taking pride in the act of giving.
Give a noob a fish, he cuts it into fishsteaks. Teach a noob to fish and he creates a fisher.

I spent my first month here farming mummys at Britain gy, just to get enough regs to train resist and magery and buy a runebook, and all that other good shit. Nobody gave me a single piece of gold. A couple random people saw what I was doing and dropped me a force or power weapon to speed up my mummy saying 
Therefore, Im also kind of bitter towards beggars. Stop being lazy and play the game! Half the fun is player growth. Once you get everything, things get boring

I have probably given away (On Hybird) over 700+mil, but I WOULD NEVER GIVE TO A BEGGER!! I would simply do events, give to friends, give to newbies that were fighting skeletons, or just give major money to a newbie who gave me 50gp or something. If someone is begging, then chances are they are hustling, lazy, or they quit WAY to much to give a fuck about them.
I personally hate restarting uo. Most of us have played off and on since 97 and pvming to train a pvper isn't exactly our cup of tea. For some it ruins the game by giving them money, and others like myself it makes it more enjoyable faster, but I rather farm mongbats for 40gp per kill than beg. I guess some people have more pride than others, even if it is on the internet.

Well that is a span of over 8? years. Once you get over 10mil the money just makes itself and becomes worthless to you (me).

Well, whenever I come into a decent chunk of seed money (5-10m), I always spend it on pvp supplies and donate it back to the people by dying.
Maybe I should try to do something more usefull with the cash instead of spending it all on weapons/wands/runics/ingots/petals/pots/regs @_@
