Just an idea bourne from the ageless stage for the Florida inhabitants.
You can buy NPC deeds from taverns (like vendors etc) called CareTakers. The function is to sit in your house and keep it refreshed for a given time, so it does not go idoc, the owner must pay (hopefully a large sum of money) for each day the caretaker takes care

This can be useful to those people that have to take a RL break from uo for a set ammount of time, like somone from the Airforce/Marines or someone who has a lot of work to do and cant get to the computer for that time. Making the price per day very expensive would deter frequent use, limiting it to those that really need it, love the shard and want to continue playing when they are back and keep all their posessions and house intact.
