Firing a serpent arrow sometimes spawns a red snake, which if left, will attack me.
is this normal?

Yes they will attack but not sure if they are capable of killing you.
The last screen shot shows me taking 1 point of damage
They do not attack other things.
They dispel within a minute.I had to take the bow out of my hands because of the auto attack whether I am in war mode or not

The poison level you inflict is random from what I noticed and you gain skill in Poisoning when you use the special
You can also fail to poison whether you are at GM Poisoning or JOAT

Here are the stats/skills of 1 on OSI to compare to the ones on Demise since we know that the Spellweaving feys/fiends are a lot stronger on Demise then the ones on OSI

Can you tame the snake in question?
also does your poison level determine the range of poison inflicted? Eg 50% poisoning = no higher than regular poison?

In the first 3 screen shots I show (all with JOAT 20.0 poisoning skill)

Seems to be random I don't have the screen shot but when I was using the special with GM poisoning I got the message "Your enemy shrugs off the poisonous bite"
