The following changes are now in effect:
  • The Gift for Arielle quest item will now drop to your corpse on death.
  • Added growable cocoa trees.
  • Miscellaneous fixes for plantgrowing (corrected plant labels, code cleanup).
  • A guardzone has been added to the dueling arena in the lost lands in Felucca.
  • The range on arena stones (renamed from "duel signup stones") has been increased to 10 tiles.
  • High Seas boat movement has been added.
  • Asteroth is now looking for more help.

The smooth boats are GREAT. Thank you!

However, I can no longer put anything on the boat deck anymore, and the relative locations in the razor macros seem to get bugged by the smooth boat feature. :(

EDIT:
I'll post a bug report.

That would be a Razor bug. It's not updating the player location correctly in reaction to the new boat movement. You can see this in the UO positioning system as well. Adding a "Resynchronize client" action in your macro will fix this.

Note that this also affects picking up items when "Auto-Queue Object Delay actions" is enabled, causing the item to (seemingly) disappear. That's another Razor bug.

The client seems to be dropping items in a different way after a boat has moved smoothly, likely to better support item drops during movement. This will have to be fixed server-side.

Thanks for posting. :)

Edit: Deck issue is fixed, will be added next restart.
Edit #2: It's in!

The following changes are now in effect:
  • Added growable cocoa trees.
  • Miscellaneous fixes for plantgrowing (corrected plant labels, code cleanup).

Three things:
1.) Will the Cocoa trees yield the appropriate resource upon reaching adequate age?
2.) Plant seeds earned as a reward for completing Asteroth's miscellaneous quests, are now displaying names relevant to a very aged (and outdated) naming generation; "Black Seed", no longer displaying their previous "Peculiar" state. Was this intended? Accidental?
3.) Will the other resource producing plants begin to yield their appropriate resources with this update as well? (Peculiar Poppies > Poppies Dust, Cypress Trees > Bark Fragments, Flax > Bales of Cotton)

Just a few questions! ^_^ Many thanks for your hard work on updating Demise, we all love you for it! <3

Yes, they provide you with cocoa butter and seeds for more cocoa trees.

2.) Plant seeds earned as a reward for completing Asteroth's miscellaneous quests, are now displaying names relevant to a very aged (and outdated) naming generation; "Black Seed", no longer displaying their previous "Peculiar" state. Was this intended? Accidental?
This is a side-effect of an intentional change for plants, which makes colors take priority over plant group. That is, a plant would be named "a black cypress tree" rather than "a peculiar cypress tree". Plain colored plants and seeds will still show the peculiar label. This may be tweaked in the future.

3.) Will the other resource producing plants begin to yield their appropriate resources with this update as well? (Peculiar Poppies > Poppies Dust, Cypress Trees > Bark Fragments, Flax > Bales of Cotton)
No, those plant changes are not in yet.

One more question... The quests Asteroth is giving out, is sometimes yielding a plain (not black/white/fire) "Fragrant seed".... Was this intended, or is it an "ooops" with the mechanics of making Fragrants drop?
