Which branch of the government is the most powerful?
Just out of curiosity, which branch of government (U.S Government, all you foreigners dont reply plz) do you think is the most powerful?
Although our government is founded on the idea of checks and balances, One would be niave to think that it is 100% balanced. So which do you think has the upper hand?
I believe the legislative branch has greatest power.
-All presidential and judiciary appointments must be approved by the Senate.
-All bills must originate here and can only be brought up by members of congress.
-If no winner is decided by the Electoral college, the president is determined by Congress (what a power to have if ur party controls both house and senate).
-And they can limit the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court (This includes keeping them from hearing appeals from lower courts reguarding gay marriage).
-They can impeach executive and judiciary officials.
-The senate serves as the jury during these trials!!
