Ok, so I had nothing to do one day and found myself watching a lot of stuff on youtube and came acress this video about some entertainer pick pocket. He decides to go to Neaples, Italy to find a notorious pick pocket there. Turns out there is a real life thieves guild kind of.. Skip forward to about 30 mins into the vid for the thieves guild!

they seem a bit smarter than him. on the other side, he does some amazing tricks on his show that probably is not as effective on the streets.
