Who is the best pvper in Hybrid history.....

Man... this thread is getting me pumped! Time to stop drinking coffee...

for what it's worth I peaked in 2011. This was back when urinal cake quit and ck6 went down (for those of you who remember these people), but immortal was still around. when I started playing in 2006 sharp as marbles took me under his wing for a short time and taught me a few things. from that point on, immortal epitomized what a pvp guild should be to me: confident, fun, slightly analytical, but most of all humble (and of course, really fucking good). no one ever had to do any talking because other people did it for them. It's a shame no one else has managed to come even close to this concept. Last guild of its kind and i was lucky to play with them.

Tier 1 players of my era were without a doubt:

alone at the top:

Sharp as Marbles
raserei
esk

raserei and esk for obvious reasons were strong in all areas of pvp. They just didn't lose. james was not a solo pvper as he never enjoyed it, but if anyone here was lucky enough to even 2v2 with him you'll know why he's there.

shout outs (these guys were either really good at one thing or decent well rounded players)

josey - alchy
angra mainyu - 5x
spooj - 5x
that guy that used to hang out with big cheez it i forgot his name
mistro - benches
talk of new york - 5x
rikomi - 5x
genocide - alchy
notorious - field
gunslinger - 5x and field
amon -5x
urinal cake - field/5x

I always placed preference to pit fighting/setup ability over field because in my mind there is no fairer playing field. others think differently so maybe these names would look differently.

Cheers

LoL mickey you said your a CSR?? A customer Service Rep?? lmfaooooooo You might as well be the local deli clerk.

Yes for three multi million dollar executive accounts. You have never done anything but fast food and manual labor and you couldn't even do that right. You're are the definition of a loser.

I don't know if I'd say its so much caring or I just like to call people out on their bullshit ;)

whats my bullshit? idk tbh if u go read some posts sir you say that shit when people talk about un related uo shit.. even about the game in general having nothing to do with what they claim they can or cant. do

I doubt anyone would call him the best, but i would go with boris, aka po fiab, violent society, and a few other alts i'm sure i forgot about. He was great at 5x, great at 2's and very decent on the field despite his thick accent. Plus he was not a rager and he would fully run onto the field and even if out numbered try to drop guys. Course back then people didn't min/max uo as much and 1-2 guy(s) with a solid combo could kill a few people in a group of bads on screen. The same shit that worked back then wouldn't do well now, with insta chugging, offscreening and all that stuff that makes UO what it is today.

Must say i can vouch for Po Fiab's skill, definitely a great player and cool guy, we had quite a good time together when he played under my calling in Immortal

Thanks Sig beautifully said, I think you made my emo ass cry a tad doubt many players are aware of the older guilds that played I stuck around for awhile longer but i was solo, unfortunately most "veteran" players have moved on and the current meta game and player base is unaware of em'. I haven't played in some time but from my era of playing with Check Six and Immortal ill state who i believe to be some of the most all around skilled players, in no particular order of course, I will do this without being biased and trying to truly think of challengers and guilds who actually made me try to out-calll them or out-heal em' ( if possible now of course bahahah ) and also of course witnessed skill, this will be based off of group fighting because well, if youve heard of me you know why.

From 05ish to late 07?

Esk
Urinal Cake
Droopy
Robo
Kenshin
Jenova
Wade
Par
Slip
Sig
Sheivan
Krrios ( bahahah ) Quite a challenge 2v2 i must say
a ghost mr snuggles aghahah

I will update this eventually, this is all that comes to mind at 5am after working 12 hours.

I wish they all still played so I could find out if they were as good as everybody says they are. Every time I have had the opportunity to play with an old school player of that calibre I am always disapointed :/

I'm not gonna be an assole and start putting people on blast but to be fair any of the times I have had the opportunity to play with the older hybrid players it was after years of not being active so its hard to really judge anybody from my perspective at least.

fair enough but you also have to recognize that skill level is very much relative to those who played at the time. It's not absolute! The reason these guys are acknowledged isn't because they could "come back and own the entire playerbase," but because they were tiers above the rest during their time.

Current pvp is much more "even" than it was when back in '06. Less players "stand out" nowadays. You can argue that this is because players were less experienced, so those who were decent had the opportunity to shine more. This is exactly right, but keep in mind it is also because of this that these guys had to teach themselves how to play; they had to "create" their own methods, not just copy them.

Take esk for example. He was not a fast player per se, but he had a very thorough and thoughful way of playing even when he dueled. It's just different. You don't see it anymore.

I will have to agree , even if those methods during that time consisted of borderline fully automated pvp (Sallos Plugins- Auto HPM - Instant Tab- Auto kick ect)
in some cases.

This is before playUO. people used razor.

Right , but let's say 2009-2013 , i've played with and against some of these people listed and i have to say (i'm not gonna say any names in respect)
it was very obvious that some of them were cheating. (oh , some of them were very good at hidding their toggle sometime ^_^ !)

That wouldn't be crasy to say that during that ERA those same people were doing the same on razor at a smaller scale.

I guess i will never know for sure , UO is so old anyways
and pretty much nothing can stop you from cheating on this game if you know how to do it right.

elminster that's whose name i couldn't remember! yeah i remember asking him to play with us more often so i could convince james to let him in immortal. i felt like such a sack of shit doing it because i knew he wouldn't ditch cheez. Man jealousy at its finest.
