4. Do not bump your message, or have someone bump your message, no less than three days after the original posting date or last bump date. Individuals who bump their threads illegally will be reprimanded and may have their thread removed.

Is it a bump? If your post is constructive and relevant to a trade which you are participating in, or constructive towards establishing the value of an item in a price check thread, then probably not.

If your post was useless, unnecessary, or for the sole purpose of drawing attention to your thread (in less than the 3 day bump allowance), then it probably is a bump.

Please be advised:
Just because you don't use the word "bump" doesn't mean it's okay to do it. There is a difference between useless posts done for the sake of trying to evade the no bumping rule, and posting relevant updates such as directly answering a question which has been asked. Of course, this only applies within reason. Obviously useless and/or excessive posting of "new" information will probably be interpreted as bumps, and get your thread deleted, as well as being used in determining the validity of your posts in the future. So, maintain some credibility here, and dont do it.

Do not use editing as an excuse to bump your thread. To avoid a situation where you have new items to offer, but you are afraid they wont get noticed, start a new thread or use your 3-day bump allowance to make others aware of the addition.

Do not bump threads for every item that gets sold either. You are permitted, obviously, to post that you have sold the item and are closing your thread, winning bid, etc., if you are actually indicating a complete closure of the thread. If you do make a "sold" post, moderators may close your thread to further posting, whether that was your intention or not.

If you have sold items from a list, you should indicated that the item is no longer available in the list of items in your original post. For example:

* axe of omguberness [ SOLD ] (PM sent!)
* bow of wtfleetness
* bandana of frogs

If your post has been up there for awhile and has had no replies, either nobody wants what you are selling or you need to try offering a better deal.

This rule must also clarify that you are not to simply repost a new message selling the same items less than 72 hours (3 days) from your first message. This is nothing more than a glorified bump which causes more forum clutter than is necessary. If you have an item that has not sold in 3 days, you may want to consider altering your post to make it more desirable. For example, being more specific about what you wish to recieve for it, or lowering your asking price.

Furthermore, when replying to offers in your thread, if there are multiple offers already awaiting your review, there is no point in making 5 different posts to answer 5 different people. Include all replies in a single post whenever possible, please.
