Peerless reagents should not get destroyed on failure

http://www.uoguide.com/Scrapper's_Compendium

Craftable Artifacts such as this require very high levels of skill to create. If possible, it is best to use power scrolls in order to improve the success chance. Talismans can also tip the odds in your favour - you'll want as much help as you can get, considering that failure could potentially destroy valuable ingredients (which are mostly acquired via lengthy battles against Peerless bosses).

But when you go on OSI and attempt to make these and fail you only lose the blank scrolls needed
Even if UO Guide was correct they still need to fix the amount of ingredients you do lose when you fail because on Demise you always lose all of your materials

Some times UOGuide is not right. When you fail making the scrappers you should only lose some of the scrolls.Never more that 50% of them

Now we see how these items were so terribly de-valued on osi.

Regular scrappers is already worth 1kk or less and expect it to eventually be so low it will only be worth keeping one or two around to give to new players and the rest in trashcan. The only ones of true value are certain desirable combinations of mods (especially 3 mod and slayers). Anybody who has crafted regular spellbooks can attest to the fact that you must throw alot of books in the trash before getting any worth keeping.

Alot of this has to do with people already having tons of resources to burn them on from the start.

peerless ingredients drop every single time maybe not the right ones to make scrappers but they always drop

You risk yourself fighting the peerless boss. And you can't craft the majors without the minors. Regardless, this is a bug. It's not really about what we think is fair or not.

just cause its on test center doesnt mean its a bug it couldve been added way later then mondains legacy. The bod system is bugged too the if u go by everything on osi because regardless of skill u can only get bods every 6 hours, u can bribe tailors to upgrade bods etc.

Then we need to get people who played OSI during ML to testify. Chumley happened to do so.

One thing doesn't excludes another. If BODs aren't as per OSI, then a new thread with details on that should be created.

I know it is not entirely osi accurate.

OSI also has a much higher drop rate in doom. Accuracy is obviously not the highest priority, and it probably shouldn't be. Peerless keys also have a timer of about 7 hours on osi, not 7 days, and the drop rate is probably higher there. These are things that our staff have known about for a long time, and simply dropping in a system that was arbitrarily accurate, would have been easier, but they decided to wait it out, until they had something that they considered balanced, and guess what? It is.

They actually changed the timer on peerless keys, so yes, it is about 7 days.

I do recall keys having a higher drop rate. Though this was before they changed the timer on the keys, and probably compensated for them having an hour timer instead of days.

My point is that the staff has been testing all these new things for years now, and some of these differences are obviously intentional, especially the gauntlet system. The developers generally have a better grasp on the overall situation of a virtual community and economy, and try not to do things that radically change the normal pace of a fairly healthy shard, while still getting them done. Anyone who played OSI for a good time will know, that you would constantly login to have your main character nerfed, or some dramatic change in overall gameplay from this constant teeter-totter and gimping/nerfing everything until they get it right years later, and have pissed off a lot of their player base.
