Great. I'm one of those people who hasn't bought or downloaded Stygian Abyss....

I get kicked after 20 seconds cuz of lenient kick.

Is that how its gunna be? Cuz this sucks, I cant even play anymore until i get a good enuff connection to d/l SA or enuff cash to buy it.

Did u guys mean to do this?

Cuz i have been playing on ur shard with 5.0.7.1 for months now, with no lenient kick.

Just curious.

No one is using SA client now, if you mean the Enhanced Client. Anyway, for playing Demise you need a client patched to 7.0.... 4 or over? Anyway it's safe to update to latest patch possible. Sincerely I'm curious to know how you was able to play with 5.x client since now, being the "lenient kick for all that's under 7.x" active from various months (I could be wrong)

About updates... thank you psz, thank you Mark, thank you everyone.

thanks for updates.

Heres how it works, before coming to play demise, i played on a shard that needed 5.0.9.1 to play. They then updated to 7.0.5.0, and since i dont have cable connection, i didnt wanna wait the hours required to patch.

I decided to try to find another shard to play, and Demise was my choice.

Ive been able to play with no problems until this morning. Now i get kicked after 20 seconds.

I use 9th anniversary client, patched to 5.0.9.1.

Yea, alot of stuff on demise had the "cliloc error" but i didnt mind, it was still fun to play ur shard. Also haven was all screwed up, but i used help stuck option for getting out of haven w/new chars.

So yea, in all, lenient kick WAS NOT enabled until today.

Is it staying this way?

yes... since lots of issues (client crashes, people paging/posting because getting stuck) and complaints about cheats came about the use of previous UO installation.

If this can help you, you can download the OSI/EA new "Classic Client" here, which is alredy updated to 7.0.3.0. Then you can let it update without have to download 600+ MB in updates.

Wow, somehow I wound up being right on Demise getting an update soon. Very awesome to finally get one again.

I have a couple of nit-picks over a couple of your descriptions though, PSZ, as they don't properly describe the patches involved:

The patch is just the opposite. It USED TO consume extra mana; the patch removed that.

The patch is just the opposite. It USED TO consume extra mana; the patch removed that.

I used the changes as stated in the SVN. If there's an issue with the descriptions, they're from the SVN. It was a (nearly) direct copy'n'paste.

Ah, okay, my bad. (I guess I'm still used to when you had to figure it out on yourself and write it up)

Still, just because it was someone else that got the description wrong doesn't make it the right description. :p

it's because sometimes, in the SVN log, it was just copy-paste the title of the report instead of the actual effect of the patch... and sometimes the title of the report says the way should NOT be :)

Ive been able to play with no problems until this morning. Now i get kicked after 20 seconds. But im update it by Auto Patch until 7.0.2.1

If I'm not mistaken, it's Mark's way of getting all the code bases in line with each other.

I'll double check with him, though.
