that is correct i tried it both none bonded and bonded and it seems like the pet has to be bonded to work

That is ridiculous. What could possibly be the RP justification for that.

I say that as a tamer.. If Demise is going to be better than OSI please leave this out. It's stupid.

In fact, re-reading the official notes, it sounds like a workaround for an OSI bug that does not exist here.

The opposite. 33 is the last one before ML and I figure the sooner in time I start the more will be undone. Working back in time also offers the advantage of seeing rolled back changes before you implement them. Honestly if it was up to me I'd dump the best ML implementation I can find on Demise then work back from pub 58.

OSI Tests Needed

Project: Arrow Auto Recovery

Details:

  • Arrows that miss their target will now be recovered automatically, rather than dropping to the ground behind a mob.
  • Shortly after dropping out of war mode, any recoverable arrows will be placed in the player's backpack.
Data: In all tests please report the exact text of any messages related to the test and when they occur. Also please report any discrepancy's between the results expected from the details above and actual testing results.

Test: Arrow Recovery Delay

Method: Enter warmode fire arrows at any target till you've got several misses for recovered arrows. Exit warmode and time how long till you're recovered arrows are put in you're pack.

Data Needed: Time span between exiting warmode and arrow recovery.

Test: Arrow recovery when firing out of warmode

Method: Attack a target without entering warmode. The methods I know on Demise are auto defend when attacked by someone else and using Razor to attack last target.

Data Needed: When do you get the arrows back? Do you get each arrow back after a time delay? If not do you have to enter warmode then leave it to trigger getting your arrows back? If not what does it take to trigger recovery?

Method: Enter warmode and attack a target till you've done some missing and have arrows waiting for recovery. Count the arrows left in your pack. Die without exiting warmode.

Data Needed: What happens to the recovered arrows? Do they drop to your corpse? Do they drop to your pack a certain time after you rez? Are they lost?

Data Needed: Do you get your arrows back when you log back in? Is it immediate or delayed? Do you have to exit warmode after login to get them back?

OSI Tests Needed

Details:

  • When a player logs out, followers (pets, hired NPCs) will be auto-stabled, returning to the player upon login.
  • Pets that do not automatically return to the player can be claimed at the stable master.
  • Pet Protection now works with summoned pets

Method: Hire an NPC, Escort an NPC, Summon a magery animal, Summon a fey or fiend, Summon a natures fury, Summon a blade spirits or EV, Summon a Demon or elemental, Animate a dead corpse Get distance from the follower then log out and back in.

Method 2: Summon a necro familiar log out. Wait a minute log back in.

Data Needed: For each type of follower was the pet auto stabled or not?

Method: Leave a bonded pet in 1 facet go to another facet and log out. Log back in.

Method: Find out how much money is in the bank of the character being used to test. Log out so a pet should be auto stabled. Log back in. Recheck the amount of money in the bank.

Setup for all tests: Mark 2 runes at different locations near a public moongate.(Runes 1 and 2) Mark a third rune(Rune 3) on the moongate.

Test: Stacking outgoing gates.

Method: Create a gate off off Rune 1. Without moving attempt to gate off of rune 2.

Data Needed: Does the second gate succeed or fail? If fail what msg?

Method: Create a gate off Rune 1. Move to another location. Attempt to create a second gate off the rune.

Data Needed: Does the second gate succeed or fail? If fail what msg?

Method 2: Stand on the public moongate and attempt to create a gate off of Rune 1.

Method: ***, Escort an NPC, *** Get distance from the follower then log out and back in.

Just tested on OSI:

When you log off on OSI, you no longer show the Escort as part of your quests, and the escort does NOT auto-appear next to you when you log back on.

If you locate the Escort again, it gives you the option to abandon the quest, but it still does not show up on the Quest Log.

Tested by escorting a noble in Trinsic, running to the wilderness and logging out and then back in. Also tested in my house and an Inn.

Thinking maybe I'd run too far, I then escorted a bride in Moonglow and ran to Moonglow's Inn (Just a couple of screens from the quest giver). When I logged out in the inn and back in, then bride was still a few screens away.


Tested on OSI's Test Center 1.

If only auto arrow recovery is it - then perhaps we should considering moving it out as a fix of its own and move this bad boy to complete.

Agree? Disagree?

No sense in having a huge thread to dig through for 1 item.

I think one complete fix would be worth it. No sense in having it collect dust waiting on other fixes.

my understanding is that everything else in this thread is already fixed but the auto arrow recovery....

we miss only the autorecovery feature. I believe you can also edit the thread title :)

But it's a while I don't see Nikki...

I can do this one.

*EDIT* Heres the patch.

  • After player toggles war mode off it will receive ammo after 10 seconds.
  • Also after his target dies.
  • If a player dies recoverable ammo will go to his pack, just before he dies.
  • If a player misses while not in war mode, he will receive ammo after 10 seconds.

Auto Arrow Recovery IS NOT the only one. The gating still needs testing on OSI. Unless that was in another thread or a gm private meeting. I am especially curious, b/c this could possibly get lots of players pkd. For example someone at fel brit gate sends a gate to luna, its red. Then someone in trammel facets sends a gate directly on top of gate in luna going to fel, making the gate appear blue. Then someone walks through the "Blue" gate and gets pkd.
