Re: The time has come...
Talisman- that is a great idea.
Right now, all the pieces are in place:
Wolf Clan (Neutral)has a house at the Brigands Camp,
Orc Hordes (Evil)have a house at the Orc Fort,
Guardsmen of Yew (Good)have a house North of the GY near Yew,
Hordes of Chaos (Evil)have a house NE from there by Repent Abbey in the Deep Woods
The stage is set for the Hordes to attack Yew. All that is needed is about a dozen players to add characters to this seen.
my Indians have been there every day lately - in the Village doing their thing. Our village is located next to the Brigand Camp just off the road from Brit to Yew in Trammel. Peaceful men who visit are given hospitality and plenty to eat. Anybody can stop by to visit or trade. If a character shows up with Wolf Clan heritage, they can become part of the family and resume a traditional lifestyle away from the corruption of the cities. We just rescued Wolf Cub, living out of the gutters of Brit. She will become a fine hunter.
A little background:
The Wolf Clan is an extended family group of native Humans. We are part of a tribe called, Chipewyan. The other Chipewyan tribal family clans are the Bear Clan and the Spider Clan. There are two branches of Wolf Clan, the Secondworlders and the Thirdworlders. The remnants of the Third World, called the War Band are NagaWolf, Two Wolves, Silver Wolf and Night Wolf. These characters are refugees from a different Shard. All other Wolf Clan characters are descendants that remained behind here in the Demise Shard, also know as the Second World. The War Band - in retaliation against the Brigands, have occupied part of their Fort. And have used it to establish a new village as a rallying point. The dream is to reunite all scattered Wolf Clan people. For the most part any new characters background would have to have their origins in the Second World either from a hidden Wolf Clan encampment, a shattered Wolf Clan community or have been raised in the world of the White Eyes seeking their lost heritage.
New Development:
Recently there has been a strange new development. “Wolfs of the Wield” is a new member of the Wolf Clan guild, but she is Elvin. The details of how this comes to be have not been worked out yet. Either, Wolfs is a traditional Elf and a friend of the Clan that has been accepted as part of the family or she has a Native upbringing because she was raised by Wolf Clan in the Second World. The difference is that if she was raised as Wolf Clan, then she will know the language, history and customs (and follow the Rules). If Wolfs is a friend of the family, she will have her own customs that may conflict with what is considered common courtesy around the village. Either way, her background may be tied to the death of the Hotamitaneo (Dog Soldiers) leader Young Wolf. So, people who are asking about being an Elf; there is now precedence.
I would rather see an Elf, racial supremacy guild who occupies the Silent City, that we can Ally for mutual defense of the wilderness and protection from White-Eyes soldiers and murders. Another thing that is needed is a Royal Society, with representation of Lord British military force. A Merchant Guild that has to trade with locals, move goods between Britain and Yew would need safe an escort for safe passage on the roads.
Getting people is the hard part:
Of all the PM's with join requests, not one has showed up. Recruiting for RP off the forums has proven to be useless, so far. What is desperately needed is Trade and Guild sub-Forums so that posts don't sink as fast. All my Wolf Clan members that are active were recruited in-game by random encounters who liked the idea of RP. Or they were players in a Guild in the UO Peace Alliance, who we made friends with. If you want to RP, get out there and be a Character. That stands the best chance of getting something going. The other possible method would be to have one or two established guilds form RP branches, and get a bunch of people involved all at once. This may require a meeting event, I think at the story telling stage would be a good place.
