The time has come...

We need to collect all roleplayers and locate us at the same place, build a town proparly so its old style irl like. We will have No houses whatsoever thats ooc there. We need a clean spot. With ALL guilds collected. So we wont be spread out, that will be, what we call "very cool". So speak with me.

ooc.

i am all for improving the demise RP situation, currently we have 4 RP guilds in Yew area (active: Wolf Clan, Chaos Horde. dormant: Bluud Orcs*, Yew Guard*) with indivudual settlements and a basic set of rules that has so far been adheared to and we now have storylines to develop the relationship's between these.

interaction (PvP/negative actions in trammel) and communication are now capable through the alliance system.

but my question would be, how could a town with warring RP guilds come about in a RP situation?

maybe bringing those settlements a little closer together, but still seperate might make encounters more regular?
maybey between these settlements a place of gathering, e.g. tavern, market place etc. (player plotted house open to the public for all guilds to share)

Talisman, do you have a RP character/guild in another part of demise that i am unaware of?

*Bluud Orcs/ Yew Guard = i dont mean to say you are dead, just from PM's i recognise that you are currently less than daily active. no intention of offence :)

Re: The time has come...

This sounds good! I can make good houses and I'd be more than willing to create the center meeting point/market place/town hall or whatever.

Re: The time has come...

Talisman- that is a great idea.

Right now, all the pieces are in place:
Wolf Clan (Neutral)has a house at the Brigands Camp,
Orc Hordes (Evil)have a house at the Orc Fort,
Guardsmen of Yew (Good)have a house North of the GY near Yew,
Hordes of Chaos (Evil)have a house NE from there by Repent Abbey in the Deep Woods

The stage is set for the Hordes to attack Yew. All that is needed is about a dozen players to add characters to this seen.

my Indians have been there every day lately - in the Village doing their thing. Our village is located next to the Brigand Camp just off the road from Brit to Yew in Trammel. Peaceful men who visit are given hospitality and plenty to eat. Anybody can stop by to visit or trade. If a character shows up with Wolf Clan heritage, they can become part of the family and resume a traditional lifestyle away from the corruption of the cities. We just rescued Wolf Cub, living out of the gutters of Brit. She will become a fine hunter.

A little background:
The Wolf Clan is an extended family group of native Humans. We are part of a tribe called, Chipewyan. The other Chipewyan tribal family clans are the Bear Clan and the Spider Clan. There are two branches of Wolf Clan, the Secondworlders and the Thirdworlders. The remnants of the Third World, called the War Band are NagaWolf, Two Wolves, Silver Wolf and Night Wolf. These characters are refugees from a different Shard. All other Wolf Clan characters are descendants that remained behind here in the Demise Shard, also know as the Second World. The War Band - in retaliation against the Brigands, have occupied part of their Fort. And have used it to establish a new village as a rallying point. The dream is to reunite all scattered Wolf Clan people. For the most part any new characters background would have to have their origins in the Second World either from a hidden Wolf Clan encampment, a shattered Wolf Clan community or have been raised in the world of the White Eyes seeking their lost heritage.

New Development:
Recently there has been a strange new development. “Wolfs of the Wield” is a new member of the Wolf Clan guild, but she is Elvin. The details of how this comes to be have not been worked out yet. Either, Wolfs is a traditional Elf and a friend of the Clan that has been accepted as part of the family or she has a Native upbringing because she was raised by Wolf Clan in the Second World. The difference is that if she was raised as Wolf Clan, then she will know the language, history and customs (and follow the Rules). If Wolfs is a friend of the family, she will have her own customs that may conflict with what is considered common courtesy around the village. Either way, her background may be tied to the death of the Hotamitaneo (Dog Soldiers) leader Young Wolf. So, people who are asking about being an Elf; there is now precedence.

I would rather see an Elf, racial supremacy guild who occupies the Silent City, that we can Ally for mutual defense of the wilderness and protection from White-Eyes soldiers and murders. Another thing that is needed is a Royal Society, with representation of Lord British military force. A Merchant Guild that has to trade with locals, move goods between Britain and Yew would need safe an escort for safe passage on the roads.

Getting people is the hard part:
Of all the PM's with join requests, not one has showed up. Recruiting for RP off the forums has proven to be useless, so far. What is desperately needed is Trade and Guild sub-Forums so that posts don't sink as fast. All my Wolf Clan members that are active were recruited in-game by random encounters who liked the idea of RP. Or they were players in a Guild in the UO Peace Alliance, who we made friends with. If you want to RP, get out there and be a Character. That stands the best chance of getting something going. The other possible method would be to have one or two established guilds form RP branches, and get a bunch of people involved all at once. This may require a meeting event, I think at the story telling stage would be a good place.

woo demise rp!

as i was reading this and http://www.rpring.com/showthread.php?t=2900 That thread.

i thought we could maybey have a look (as a community) at putting some of the ideas voiced so far into a plan, or several plans to be decided on etc :)

of course ive started with the basics of where, guilds, meeting places etc.
so this is how the demise rp community currently looks like geographically for anyone who doesnt know/ isnt sure. This is in Trammel.

so looking at that, i thought id try to get it all a bit closer together with maybey more places directly between settlements for casual interaction (rather than having to run directly towards each other over vast areas of terain in a less than natural manner)

of course this is only an idea to consider, i am not say the situation needs changing, only that somthing like this might improve it?

EDIT: ok so after visiting some of those locations ive found theyre not all possible (on this shard you cant get onto the prision island and there isnt much space where i proposed a tavern/market) but you get the idea :)

but lets talk about it, obviously that would mean a lot of moving for everyone.
on benefits side, somthing like this might be more friendly for non-guild players who want to roleplay, which i thnk would be a great thing that hopefully would encourage more people.

other than that. a roleplay society Alliance would be great, at the moment [Wolf] & [HoC] are in the [UO] alliance, but if we had a seperate one other rp guilds (however small) can join and all Alliance Chat (the light blue text) could be soley for arranging and meeting other roleplayers ingame.

i know it always seems like there are a million "how i think rp demise should be..." threads. so umm.. this isnt that.. what do people think?

- Guilds
- Non-Guilded
- Settlements
- Location (map area)
- Combat Rules (PvP)
- Storys/ Events

i think character and play style and talking are obvious things that are up to the individual.
some of those obviously already have semi-agreed terms (e.g. combat rules/ location) but no harm in talking about it i suppose.
:)

Re: The time has come...

Nietszej, I like your smaller RP zone layout idea and it is a smart looking distribution. However; the Orc, Yew, Wolf and Hordes houses are already placed. We are already clustered around Yew, basically along the Main Road. The patrol rout of our Braves around the border of our hunting grounds includes coverage of all existing RP sites. The same will be true of the Guardsmen. And I look forward to having the problem of RP players missing each other in-game, that would involve having RP players in-game. I have two basic suggestions for how to recruit RP players.

1. The area needs a representation of Lord British, the Nobles of his Royal Court and its Military Power to enforce the Sovereign Law and collect Taxes. This new group has several advantages, it can accept existing characters so that people don’t have to start over with dedicated characters for the guild, but that is still a possibility. They are based in Britain so, it will be natural for the Nobles and Military Officers to be conducting business of the Court and recruiting Citizens right in front of the West Brit Bank.

2. There should be a scheduled event in the Story Telling area by the Brit Moon Gate in Trammel, so that all those that are interested in some type of RP can have a general meeting to discuss what is possible. This would be something lasting about one hour, and the date announced about a week or two in advance. The turn-out would be an indication of the scale of RP that could reasonable be expected. And it would be a chance for recreating for new RP guilds and the RP guilds that are already established.

Re: The time has come...

RP guilds arent any fun to interact with since creation of trammal -=/

or for that matter... the new lockdown rules for boats and houses...

it was fun when you could gank someone on his doorstep and loot his house clean, it was more fun when you recalled a looted key and to your pleasent suprize your loot included 2 or 3 chests full to max with gems and a variety of silvers and vanqs -=/

Re: The time has come...

I would have to disagree. RP doesn't give a whack about tram or fel. In reality you wouldn't be attacked and killed by gankers and if you were the authorities would be all over their butts like crazy. Really tram play sorts it out a bit. When did UO become a bunch of serial killlers running around where is the reality in that?

Rpers can set up at war guilds and such without random gate ganking that is the purpose. Check it out. Sorry if this offends anyone but it is just what I think and if you don't like it .... well..... sorry about your luck. LOL

Well said! Funny isn't it, that some peeps have an opinion in something that they don't even participate in? Go figure!
I will assist in any way I can for this RP community.

Re: The time has come...

Soon I will set a date for the RP kick-off meeting (recruiting) event and announce on RPRing.com and on Demise Forum. What times are best for you in the next ten to fourteen days?

Also there will be a new "The Adventurers" Guild that will have several administrative functions:
a starting point for any kind of RP character
get into RP with an existing character
recruiting mechanism that can go anywhere and not have to get too ooc
serves as the RP Alliance leader.

Guilds that join get to use the chat system to stay in contact and set up RP encounters. The RP Alliance also allows for unlimited action despite being in Trammel. Also, the RP Alliance leader would be able to remove Guilds that are disruptive and Invite new Guilds that want to give RP a shot.

Also, recall there is an in-game chat system. Any RPr that wants to stay unattached or is not interested in allowing unlimited actions against them can still communicate.

Re: The time has come...

Unless there are any objections:

Wolf is going to leave the Peace Alliance
I will make a character for the Adventurers guild
He will start the Adventurers guild[TAG]
TAG will ally Wolf, starting the RP Alliance
RP Alliance will invite HoC, Yew and Silverblade Knights
later when we meet for the RP kick-off event,
leadership of TAG and the RP Alliance will be given to BeyonderBill

This will take place in about two hours, after I check back here for responses.

Re: The time has come...

I wanted to post something, so that HoC would not be surprised if you can not raise Wolf on the Alliance chat. I hope we can get in-touch with Yew and Silverblades soon too. I ran out to the cross-roads and they have a very nice setup with two towers, just North of the Guard Outpost there.

I have not decided on an exact date, I am trying to coordinate with BeyonderBill to be sure that he can make it there to take over the RP Alliance.

Meanwhile I will open recruiting for The Adventurers Guild. It will be interesting to see if any existing guilds would like to give RP a shot or start an RP branch.

Wolf, I've already created the guild. I'm working on getting a home for it.;)

it looks like Beyonder is a step ahead of me.
I am going to try to meet him, put in a character
and have Wolf join his guild to get things going.

Re: The time has come...

check: Wolf is going to leave the Peace Alliance
check: I will make a character for the Adventurers guild (Demise Roleplayers)
check: He will start the Adventurers guild[TAG] (Demise Roleplayers [DRP])
check: TAG will ally Wolf, starting the RP Alliance, (DRP Alliance)
check: DRP Alliance will invite HoC, Yew and Silverblade Knights
to do: later when we meet for the RP kick-off event,
check: leadership of TAG and the RP Alliance will be given to BeyonderBill
he already has control, so he will be setting the rules for full time RP in Alliance

I'm good for evenings or weekends pacific time. Would have to coordinate somewhat a few days before I'd imagine. I'm sure can work something out.
