This music is touching.

Re: This music is touching.

Niiiice!

Some riffs at the beggining of it remind me of a song from Legião Urbana (brazillian), wich i dunno what song is. But i don't thik "buckhead" has ever meet any of their song, so i forgive him hehehehehe. Make me wanna sleep, not from boredom, but from a very comfortable state of peace on my mind.

A good musician knows how to enjoy any melody, even if he doesnt like the style.

And im not doubting your taste for good music, im doubting your professional musician effort to evaluate a song, instead youre just condemning it before even searching the depts of its melody.

If you get some black metal... Lets say Emperor or Burzum, at a first impression youll hear a devastating sound that shreads the single existance of your brain. But if you listen closely, you'll notice a melody, a simphony to all that is dark, like death and despair and chaos and blahblahblah. For many years ive enjoyed metal for everything, now i just enjoy for those killing melodies, that make you feel so alive and yet so peacefull.

The instrumental is kinda cool on that second song, but the singer sucks =3

Ill get a fastie BM song here, with a fucking awesome melody, so you can get my point.

Here ya go, my favorite song of Burzum, Lost Wisdom. You should look for its lirics to, they're so brilliant.

From Burzum you could also get this one:

That one is called Dunkelheit.

And for the endings of a proof that hard songs can be trully great, heres one from Siebenburgen, Angelic.

Not true, a good musician is a critique of any melody but can spot a truly fascinating piece of music a mile away (even if it isn't his style).

Ah anything Neil Young really, Bob Dylan is another great lyricist.. I could go on listing awesome artists but to do would full several books.
Music rules :p

no... a good musician is the one that can play various styles and recognize the melody and structure of the kind of music he's listening or playing and do it his style. i was not saying it's bad music, i was saying theres not touching about shredding. only the "i see nothing good" was my own personal opnion. why? it's pure speed and technique. no melody on shredding unless if its combined with regular playing somewhere in the mix.

and, for the record, bob dylan ftw.

I'm sorry but Bob Dylan > Neil Young, even though I love both.

I have to agree... but it's a tough throw up.
I also enjoy Jeff Buckley's rendition of Hallelujah (though his teeth creep me out in this video)

You can't say that! :p

I reckon Maynaird from Tool is a top lyricist also, but I know most will disagree with me (tool is overrated but for all the wrong reasons)

Re: This music is touching.

Maynard James Keenan has an excellent voice. His writing is (understandably, due to being co-written with either the guitarist from Tool *OR* the guitarist from APC) not quite as Up To Snuff with Dylan or Young.

He is, though, a much better *SINGER* than either.

Dylan and Young have.... Annoying voices when it comes to singing. Dylan also has a nasty habit of being half-passed-out in New Orleans.... On the streets, at times (this is from personal experience)
