Tornadoes

Bama

A few of us here went through a lot of bad weather yesterday
From 2pm yesterday until 9pm We had 4 tornadoes pass by us
The 2nd tornado knocked power out at our house at about 5pm
I know a few players here are from Alabama and I know where 1 lives just hoping he and his family are all ok
That 2nd tornado apparently was a mile wide and I will never forget the sound of it as it tore apart our area
We were lucky our garage was destroyed and a few downed trees (Hubby is all happy pants he likes cutting trees....Canadians go figure)
Others no so lucky

Glad to hear you are safe.

I imagine that it was rather scary, my thoughts go out to those familys that have been affected.

Tuscaloosa is unreal. Was watching CNN yesterday and had to look at footage a few times to realize it was the busiest intersection in town completely destroyed. So surreal seeing such familiar places in that situation. The earlier storm that came through at 7am knocked a whole lot of trees down around my parents house and damaged some buildings along the road, but they made it out unscathed. I heard my ex-uncle's house got damaged or destroyed, but don't know where he's living now (somewhere in GA) or the details on it.

Yeah I self diagnosed myself with Stockholm syndrome today. I saw the news watched all the videos and was genuinely concerned for Bama and Phil. The only other alternative would mean I grew a heart and that would just get complicated. So I'll stick to my original diagnosis. But in all sincerity I'm glad to hear from you and now I'm hoping Phil is just without power and I'll keep my fingers crossed and in my prayers until he posts again.
COME ON PHIL POST ALREADY!!!

Scary stuff because honestly it could happen to any of us, I went through two hurricanes and I think Tornadoes are much worse it could be upto two weeks before they get power back at least that is what I went through with Hurricane Charlie and Wilma....

Thanks Bama for the update on your welfare!!

I feel bad for those people who lost their lives and families, I'm sure some of them suffered immensely.

I want to see a tornado.

Phil was on earlier this morning and his step - son was on this afternoon so I will take that as a good sign
Phil has a little daughter and that is why I was/am concerned

Like I said we lost a garage and had a few downed trees
Nanook from the North (my husband) got the trees cleared and figures he can have the garage done by Saturday (my Canadian Tim Taylor Lord help me)
We were very lucky and along with a few other neighbors we are feeding and giving shelter to those who are without and without means to getting to shelter or food or something cold to drink
There are 2 power grids in our neighborhood so some of us have power while others still don't

I'm not originally from Alabama but the first thing I saw was in Alabama when bad things happen Alabamians dig down deep into their pockets and give to those who do not have

We all make fun of these banjo playing Hillbillies (go ahead and try to explain to an Alabamian that the sweat on their back from having sex with their cousin really isn't "relative humidity") but they are the best people in this Country
Thank-You all for your concern
Muscles good to hear your parents are good
Phil post or PM me
