Something needs to be done.. I log on and get discouraged by the lack of activity. Bring back sallos if it means an active del pond.. I never used sallos, have always stuck with Razor and hold my own. Or maybe advertise or recruit. I don't have many ideas on how to do it, but something needs to be done or hybrid will die...

Ya i agree, the lack of ppl is discouraging. But as far as sallos goes, im glad it's gone, can actually go out and solo pvp, been seeing alot of ppl out doing this. Also been seeing a steady amount of new players recently too. which is always good. I cant stand del pond, i wish they would remove that also. I like fighting in the towns, or the faction base battles or in the dungeons, maybe even some bucs pvp. I think if they re-do the factions maybe add some new crafting items, hold some more events get more active staff ect, things will pick up. Everyone say's the game is just to old and that's why the population is declining. I dont agree with this at all, Just gotta add some new things to keep ppl entertained.

The shard has been up and down all day - because there are network issues. Besides the fact of that though - the player count did drop a lot after sallos was shut down.

From what I'm told the bugs from Sallos were quite significant and perhaps even game breaking. For example, players could turn their mares into swamp dragons and then trade the 7x swamp dragons to a player with no taming; who could then use the swamp dragon as a fully trained mare. There were several things comparable to that as well which players had to deal with constantly because of Sallos (even if they were aware of it or not). As a result I think the removal of Sallos was a beneficial thing to the shard, even if we have to suffer a bit for a while due to the temporarily lower population. I say temporarily as I think it likely AssistUO will improve in the months to come and consequently be able to bring players back who apparently require a Sallos-like client to play. Also Ryan's efforts to get an extremely high quality website for uogamers will probably breathe some new life in to the shard as well.

That stuff is great but isn't going to help much with pvp. The pvp playerbase has taken a huge hit with sallos being disabled, I don't think it will ever recover even if it is enabled again. I got most my guild onto assistuo and most of them didn't mind it, but they found new games out of lack of activity. Also on the solo issue, this is most likely because there no one to gank you ;p

1 this game is old
2 they were probly getting seizures from the choppiness of these inferior clients
3 the fact they have to set a macro to do any and every detail is just far too annoying.

Also from what I understand assistuo is pretty much razor but you are aloud to make scripts. For example someone I know made a macro in assistuo that loops uninterupted that autocures,autoheals party members, auto pops pouches all in one macro. I wonder how many other things you can do with a program that lets you write scripts in the macro tab.

I enjoy pvp a lot more since sallos went down, it is true that you run into a lot more even number and even 1v1 field fights. Also almost every day there has been fights outside of brit/brit gate/gy that I have found, some times really good big fights, some times just smaller fights, but it is way more than it has been in a while. If you can't find fights then it is your own fault. I know enough people from different guilds blues/reds/factions that always say this but they go out and look once, then go afk and complain. Go out and promote yourself, get people there to fight you, start shit with some people and tell them where you will be, make a forums post ect.

If you quit because sallos went down you are a little whiny brat. Go learn AUO. Get a job and buy a computer from this decade, put UO on a SSD, then no matter what you use, you don't lag, and you don't have to use shitty sallos running around like paper cut outs that don't move to be able to "run smooth".

I think a faction upgrade would help with pvp big time! If it's a really good upgrade, It would probley bring ppl to join factions who havent joined before + bring back ppl & probley bring back the ppl who left cuz of sallos cuz they would wanna try it out. I dont know why u would quit because sallos was removed or being repaired or whatever the story is..... Most of the ppl who used sallos bragged how good they were at pvp & how they were the best! Now that it's gone they wont even pvp cuz they cant use it? I know plenty of guy's who use razor & are awesome at pvp. better then some ppl that used Sallos, If your truely a harcore pvper i dont think sallos being gone is gonna stop u from pvping. As far as being ganked i do still get ganked, that's never gonna change, but what has changed it more ppl going out & solo pvping,

Sad to say I already have. I do check to see whats going on the forums every now and then just by habit of playing this game for the last 8 years. Nothing really to read tho.. seems like every thread includes a bunch of smug responses from people that never really had an impact on this game but insist on posting on the forums 24/7 with there meaningless opinions.
