I added those in for aesthetic reasons. I just got done building the step pyramid DDOM arena which also had those runes put in (also for aesthetic reason. See picture below. Those runes translate to DDOM). I was kinda in a doodling mood when I constructed the temple/shines so I added the runes in thinking that probably no one would notice them.

When you doubleclick the door, it gives you a message saying "You have no chance without knowing the mantra" or somehting similar to that. For the people trying, have you gone and found all the shrines yourself? I'm thinking once you find them all it becoems like the orb and you double click it and THEN input... or are people already doing that? (i only found 5 of the shrines, and never finished finding the deciept mantra)
