uh... BORING! 70k an hour... ***** please, thats petty cash for an hour of your life. Try scamming, its easy because 90% of UO players are complete idiots and scamming has two main payoffs, lots of cash/items and satisfaction that you owned someone in game and in rl because they are screaming there head off over there 70k/hour worth of items.

OWNED

Dont you kinda need money/items to scam with before u can actually scam successfully?... cuz if not.... then id like to kno how. Other than stealing unblessed bod sandals n shit...

I'll just say.. don't cast magic reflect when taming a mare. Beat the mare to low health and constantly paralyze it. It won't be able to damage you and will be very easy to tame. Same goes with dragons. For WW's - which don't have fire breath, just straight out paralyze them. They can't damage you because they won't cast.

Good guide but in the time it takes to raise taming you couldjust be farming tons with a mage or dexxer

Re: guide to making gold. Version 0.2

You could, but in the big scheme of things, tamers are more efficient than a dexer/mage, and once a tamer can grab a ww/nightmare combo, or whatever their prefered farming combo is, they can take things like demons and abysalls and such that a solo mage/dexer would have a very difficult time doing.

One thing you might want to update is the price of mares. Can't get one for 6k anymore, you're best off getting a dragon unless you have 100k to spend. Though you could always go and try to find one to tame yourself... (some players will sell dragons to you for around 6-10k, check Skara if no one's selling in brit, tamers seem to frequent there since the stable is right next to the bank.)

NPCs only have so much gold on them. Once another player takes all that gold by selling stuff, they will tell you, "I cannot afford any of that right now". They "respawn" with more gold every 2 hours or so. The trick is to make yourself runes to multiple tailor shops and recall around selling stuff. Off the top of my head, the following towns have tailor shops:

Brittain: 2 (west side by the bank, east side, just across the bridge from west side)
Skara Brae: 1
Magincia: 1
Delucia: 1
Nu'jelm: 1
Serpents Hold: 1
Jhelom: 2 (one southeast of the bank, one through the teleporter in the middle of town)
Trinsic: 1
Occlo: 1 (although you need to watch out for pks if you sell here cuz there are no town guards here).
Papau: 1

That's 12 tailor shops. If you travel around making stuff and selling, by the time you cycle through them all, the first one should have gold again. If you don't have runes to some of these places, just run around to some of the popular player run vendor houses (like outside the Yew Moongate) and you should find public runebooks locked down in the houses. Just use mark scrolls and runes to make yourself runes to all the tailor shops. Good luck!

Keep in mind that the best spots are going to be overrun with PK's too. The Terranthan Keep has Dragons,Balrons and lots of Terranthans. This is one of the harder spots for manster spawn. But gold accumulates quickly. Kalhdun dungeon should have high end manster spawn too.

A run through the Solen Hive will produce decent gold with minimal effort. Titans and Cyclpses give decent gold as well. And in the same general area the Ophidian's Lair has good spawn for killing lots to accumulate gold.

If you go to the best or fastest farming spots you will have lots of company. If you go to spots not as productive, there will not be as much competition or grief.

Another good idea, is to check the buying forum.

There's usually a couple people looking for resources such as ingots, leather, cloth, or boards. All these things can be collected easily. Since people that have gold, usually don't want to collect themselves, they will pay someone to do it for them ( like me :D ).

To the newbies out there, if are struggling getting gold off the get go. do escorting- make sure u take an escort that you can take to a town that has a moongate. 400-1000gold every 5 minutes. so long as u pick an escort that you can escort with no runes!

You missed Fishing.

It's not the greatest money, but it's safe and steady. It's also free. Start with +1 fishing for a rod, bang, that's it. You never even have to leave town if you just want to catch fish. stand at the docks and pull in the free gold.

Guide to making gold and you put Donate Money in your opening sentence? That is straight up bullshit... you lost me right there I didn't even have to read any following comments.

Don't get me wrong, donating isn't bad. I donated also, but don't tell people to pay real money in a guide to make gold in UO.

Enough said.

tailoring is good starter in delucia too :D lots of wool to pick to make cloths and into banadages (sell them in bulk), leather from bulls and getting rewards from small basic bods in the beginning can;t hurt, just save enough money to buy a beetle so u dun end up running back and forth too much :D

OR:
You could not be a lazy moocher and not count on players to be nice enuff to help you (chances are u will spend the remainder of ur time on UO trying to find a "nice" player..i kno..sad..but true) and just be a peacer with swords and GM healing off a second char (kill first) bring a friend who is older in the game or just go alone and start with zombies in jholem and the pit fighter and for peacing you can leave an unattended macro going while u sleep and wake up GM peace and music and then just go kill efreets in del like theres no tommorrow spit in the face of ne rewd who tries to kil u and run like a noob and there you are a brand new guy sitting on like 60K easily made.Trust me thats how i started here both times and it WORKS!
plus efreets give 600 - 900 gold per kill and chance of a super badass weapon so after u clear out the cave once ull have 5k and a few vanq and/or invul belongings which PwN ne red mager with a quickness!
Trust the kaos king dudes taming is wayyyyyy to time consuming for anyone with a life...
Have a good one ppls hope u listened
=>

Kay so "instead of wasting time finding a nice player go get your friend to help you".....?

I'm pretty sure he made the guide for a "new" player, with more than likely no friends.

Just an observation :p
