Yea that sounds really cool, how about we set up and ruin city there and we can do some cool champ spawns, or monster over-runn's or sumthing like that??

I'm glad I read this thread! I was just at Magincia in the game, and I truly wondered what happened to it. No trees, vegetation, animals, people, or buildings. Some chairs and things are still there, though, which is funny in an odd way... since, otherwise, the place looks as if it was wiped from the face of the planet. A sign is up there, though, a white post saying not to build a house there or you will lose it. That was my first clue that what I was seeing wasn't a glitch or a bug, but something planned specifically.

In a way it makes sense, destroying Maginica like in Ultima 4, just as the Exodus / Blackthorn story back during Lord Blackthorn's Revenge made sense with Ultima 3 and Ultima 5... and if I recall correctly, there was a Minax storyline to do with the Lost Lands even further back. Mondain's story predates the game, so they couldn't do that... but I do believe they are trying to follow the storyline of the classic Ultima games, only without the Avatar's involvement in the events. This is likely a promotional event, to lead up to their release of Stygian Abyss for Kingdom Reborn. Setting up the full Ultima 4 era, in that way. Since Demise doesn't use Kingdom Reborn, and so won't be using Stygian Abyss, I wonder where the Demise developers will take the story once Magincia's destruction is finalized? I suppose they could always redecorate the dungeon on the Isle of Fire (Isle of the Avatar in classic Ultima), and populate it with even nastier spawns, thus creating their own Stygian Abyss. I actually wouln't mind seeing a Stygian Abyss for UO that doesn't require a new client or another expansion pack. I wonder if in the future, we'll also see a war between the humans and the gargoyles, like in Ultima 6? You never can tell, after all! :rolleyes:

i typed many thins about city problem of ultima online i hope they destroy luna. so we can see peoples in other cities ;) dont be lazy peoples every city have mage shop tailor black smith etc..;) i hope they make magincia cool so peoples go there

Some of us might say a similar thing about Trammel... ;)

But in all seriousness, while not as many people use other banks as the Luna bank, there really was never quite that much per-bank density at any Britania bank since Rennaisance. And yes, even here, there's still a quite stable populace at the West Britain Bank, as well as at Umbra and especially New Haven. Usually there are some at Zento.

I was at Magincia (Andre Travaille is the player I currently use) yesterday and couldn't figure out what was going on with the funky map.

Perhaps it's time to turn the island into the Swampy undead haunt that it was in the Ultima 4 era.

Here's a thought: why not host an event where Lord British leads a mission to some dungeon, and then, in the course of the dungeon crawl, have him be lost. Blackthorne can then be in charge of the kingdom, which could be an excuse to make all kinds of changes. Make some cities smaller, erase others, change some of the scenery in Britain for awhile.

What the heck, why not make an Avatar character? It'd be fun to see him and his troupe running through Britannia. Players could even join on the Avatar's quests to do whatever. It'd be a great lot of fun!

I think runes for reds was even there before Magincia dissapeared.

The beach is considered a "Safe Zone" on OSI (and Demise) for any houses that were there prior to the town going poof.

WOW! Paragon Dancer is really lucky, along with the other person with a house on the beach. Those houses are worth millions IMO. =D

Not cool blocking the shrine making it even easier for every red to get res killed or not being able to res cause the blues killed all healers
