removing wands increases the availability for those who don't know how to use wands to pvp.

They're actually really easy to macro, however, I carry around 50-100 each reg of regs and a few pots on me at any given time. Why the hell am I going to use a 35k per charge gheal wand to save my 1-3k worth of pots and regs. Not to mention if said gheal wand or wands have 5 charges, and I have a 15 charge lightning wand on me; I'm losing some serious dough. Makes absolutely no sense for me to carry them, so I sell em. Furthermore; I crack the fuck up at little kids that have the audacity to talk shit about me getting ganked when I'm not macoing wands.

Now, consider this; when trying to attract new players to the shard. They pretty much stand no chance against someone with wands, and no friggin new player is gonna have wands in his or her arsenal. Also, they're not going to be able to afford wands. So what are they gonna do? You really think they'll farm a couple of days to be able to field pvp for a couple hours? No, they'll find another server that caters a realistic style of play.

K revert back to before when they were 12.5k per charge. Still holds its weight. At least they weren't allowed in events at the time.

Why pvm when you can just farm characters dead bodies.

I roll 150 ea reg 35 heal 10 cure 10 str 10 refresh and like 90 purples. I max my bag out and refuse to use wands and I am almost always solo.

I used to to think wands should be removed and were toxic to pvp as well before I played uoforever, was fun for a while but it basically turned the pvp into a marathon race. Now most (decent) pvpers on there are calling for wands and bolas to be added, even the people that actually went there because they thought pvp would be better without them.

In terms of solo pvp I don't really think more or less people will be playing solo as the people who solo simply like to solo anyway, but it would have both pros and cons, namely:
- Higher chance of surviving a chase from multiple people that would use light wands, but would more easily die if you were stunned.
- Harder time killing the random crappy pvpers (ie alot of tamers and random blues that wouldn't usually carry wands anyways, which most soloers try to fight as it is easier to fight them outnumbered) as you wouldn't have the advantage of carrying wands compared them not having them but it would be easier to kill the better pvpers which usually carry wands, as gheal wands make it very hard to kill competent players.

The pricing of wands is an issue as to really have a level playing field everyone should have access to the same equipment but that doesn't seem like it will happen any time soon as all the rich players are jacking up the prices so they can buy them out (blame the shitty economy). Doesn't really effect me since all my wands are from loots (Koreans are better then liches imo for wand stock) but would be a very large issue for a new player trying to get into pvp.

I wouldn't be against nerfing wands, imo making them use the same amount of mana as the usual mage spell should be sufficient.

You also shouldn't compare pvp currently with wands to pvp before when wands were not majorly prevalent as pvp hasn't just evolved as wands vs no wands, after so many years pvp has overall changed enormously which can be seen in uoforever as that doesn't have wand pvp but it definitely isn't comparable to back in the day.

Overall I'd say to keep wands but if we are going to nerf them (in how many years?) they should cost mana.

Why not just make wands consume like half the mana cost? It would be a nice inbetween. It wouldn't nerf the wands but it would put them down a slight notch.

Fuck that, it should be full mana cost. You already have the ability yo use them while running. what more do you want?

and.... more so statistics than racism. Nothing wrong with bein racist.
 
I don't see how the argument for having wands helps you because of the simple fact that the gank squad are 100% more likely to be carrying wands... Therefore MOOT.

How about removing Lightning wands for a period of time?
And maybe even Gheal, but keep the rest? (mana drain, mini heal, fireball)

Might even make Magic arrow wands useful ?:)
 
PVP hasn't evolved the last 5 years. It has remained near the exact same, with less players.

Hybrid pvp relies too much on crutches, which is what kills the solo pvp experience. Nobody wants to die in this precious game, so they either stack to the 9s or roll deep.

If you remove wands, skill becomes a much more inherent factor in pvp, and winn 1v2-3's become much more realistic since you don't have to worry about people using 20 gheal charges and chasing you with lightning wands.

Unless of course you use a blessed gear and right click pvp. Then you probably just spend even more time running off your screen, and more time on forums denying progress on this stale server.

Call me a troll all you want, at least I haven't supported wands as countless players have left the server because of wands.
 
Oh god here we go, does anyone even consider fireball wands in this thread, I love people on this game trying to take a jab any chance they get.
fireball wands do like 8-12 damage and can act as a disrupt. It's still a very viable wand choice for chasing people down. The difference is because it has a delay to the damage, you can't reliable explo weaken fireball wand like you can with lightning.

Also, please remember that heavy smoker was heavily against sallos.
