Re: So who's all old LS players
Let me start by saying this was amazing to see that even after all these years, you all still play and reconnected.
I had a few accounts, got banned a few times. I wasn't the greatest pvper but pretty damn good. Started in 97 and my main was Nihilistc. After getting banned I think my mains were The Rock, and Vegita all tank mages and Shadow Knight was my noob macer when that crushing blow shit came out since that publish ruined pvp and tank mages. I had tons of other chars but I cant remember. Hung out in minoc and vesper mainly. Started out as a PVE/PVM’er in my first month. Got pk’ed at the zoo one day training archery, and after that day, I’ve been a life long pvp’er in every online game I’ve ever played. I Remember noob guilds like DX in minoc mines and killing people like that in my first year. After thinking that was pvp I stopped sucking so much and moved onto to being a red pk and actually dueling legit pvper's and got a lil better.
Reefer, if you’re reading this hit me up dude. Haha and yes I remember that fool paul atreides. Haha holy shit yoshi, and ice trey, the two brothers I remember them too. Dean I remember you as well. We rolled with me when hanzou still played. On the good ol ICQ days. And Biggunz I remember knowing you.
I remember brad pitt, and lot of the other names I saw, sorry just went through the ENTIRE thread post for post and cant remember all names. Definetly remember Diamond Dog and his crew and also Redrum and that amazing perma red crew that every perma pk guild tried to imitate.
I started pre T2A. My rl friend was Hanzou, we owned a house on vesper road and did a shit ton of pvp there… to the point usually where it ended in people gating in their entire guilds.
I remember rolling with a good pvp guild when my main was Vegita, but cant remember the name of it; I think it was DNV, dirt nappers of vesper. It was Rude Dog’s/Bendover’s guild. Plaps and joyce were in it. Im sure im forgetting tons of other great people I knew but im 26 and this was like from age 13-16.
So theres an LS pvp hall of fame? And that sorry ass fool pikachu is on there? GTFO lol I remember I dueled him three times in front of EE and beat him 2/3 with a 5x hally mage with like 93 magery and 65 resist on dial up. That hall of fame is sorely mistaken because I can name atleast 5 people who were better than me.
After the rude dog days I joined OnC the ignoble order. Ashenshugar was the leader and I love him like a brother but he sucked and if he’s reading this now, I still stand by it lol. We only had like 12 total members, Merlin joined us, the real merlin, the one who is actually good and is on my AIM list that I haven’t logged on in years. but we were 3rd on the war list behind EE and someone else. We were red pks/chaos/order all that shit. Basically couldn’t go anywhere without a fight and that’s how I loved it.
EE was just a bunch of noobs imo and just had overwhelming numbers in most fights; however, there were a few good duelers though I do remember so if you flame me for that statement, then so be it but that was the truth.
God this was an amazing trip down memory lane… I have been craving UO pvp the last few months and its been a few years since I played on Defiance. To see all this justifies my belief that UO was clearly the greatest online game for pvp ever. Granted its not a fancy 3-d game, but it is one of the original mmo's. The best damn part was this: When you died, you lost your shit. When you killed someone, you took their shit. No better way to grief someone than to take all of their possessions. You could recall in a dungeon and catch someone half life after two hours of lich farming and instantly take away all their hard work. It put so much more value into the game because dieing in these modern day mmo's doesnt mean much.I like when joyce said he never worked an honest day in his UO career and got everything he wanted; that sums it up right there. These mmo’s these days are pansy compared to UO. And just the fact that you could fight anytime, anywhere was just great. It was like the old west, you just ran with your crew and killed other people who were also looking for trouble.
Tried to get UO to work on Vista a few years ago but it kept crashing... tempted to install an old hardrive with XP on it and hop on. Great memories... thank you all.
