The True Newbie guide to making gold fast.

Ok, everyone posts up ways to make gold quickly, however most of them require a substantial investment in reagents, tools or some other type of stock. I am going to teach a true newbie how to make 100-200k in a few days on the shard.

Create your new character on Hybrid. This will be a disposable character,
you can potentially keep the character if you would like to, but you will work several skills at the same time and will find that you quickly reach the skill cap or close to it which will make gaining other skills later difficult.

Start with the following skills

Tailoring 50
Magery 50
Music 1

Once your in game, lock all skills.
Set the following to raise

Magery
Tailoring
Meditation
Armslore
Music

Run your Int and Str up with Armslore. Run your dex up a bit with music.
Pick a city that is currently faction controlled at -30%.
Take your 1000 gold and buy a few sewing kits and as much fabric
as you can buy. Start tailoring fancy shirts. Not shirts, not capes or robes.
You are not trying to gain skill, you are trying to gain money. You will stall at
around 70 skill, but don't worry just keep tailoring and selling shirts. You will hit pockets when the vendors do not have money to buy your shirts. That means it is time to go to another town. If you have lots of fabric already you can go to any town to sell. If you do not have any fabric you will want to find another -30% faction town. If there are none, than go to a base price town. If there are none than take a break for awhile. Take some of the gold you have and mark a rune for the tailorshop you are at. It will take you a few tries, but you will gain lots of magery at 50 skill trying to mark. Remember to mark close to the tailorshops so you won't run out of stamina running from the banks to the shops. Eventually you will have runes to most of the tailor shops. Remember you can sell at full price even at +30% faction towns. Just don't ever buy there. You will average about 10-15k an hour making shirts. When your magery hits about 75 or so, you can begin to really make more money.

Once you have 20k in the bank do the following.
Mark runes to all dungeon entrances, you should have most of the towns already from your runes to the tailorshops. Just find a runebook at peoples houses and copy them.
Make 3 more characters on your other accounts, 1 each on your other accounts. Give them each 50 Magery and 50 hiding. Macro up their stats to 100hp, 25 mana, 100 dex. It does not matter what skills you use, these will again be throw away characters. Log them all in at Magincia, or Trinsic, or some other place with lots of escorts. Give them all horses.
With your primary create gates for the other 3 characters. Have them alternate taking escorts as quickly as possible. With this process you can easily net 25-30k an hour. You will also gain lots of magery as well from the gating. Once you have your 200k delete all the junk characters and start playing for real.

Remember the rule for Hybrid. If one character can do something really well, four of them will do it even better.

I actaully just used to macro making fancey shirts at lvl 50 skills, would make 10 and sell. had a macro to move cash to pack horse. i had 3 accounts at once doing it... 2 macroing one moving cash. : )

Just have to get creative.

Very nice guide. I would like to make the suggestion of making fancy shirts though. I find they're more profitable. They both only use 8 yrds of cloth but fancy shirts sell for 9g more, and starting off with 50 tailoring is plenty of skill to make them. Not a huge difference in price, but make several hundred of them and you really lose out on a lot of money.

You're right actually, I did that guide at work and I could not remember which was better. I have changed it.

I spent the last few hours testing this out... With GM tailoring I can make anywhere from 50 - 70k an hour (crafting something else, not fancy shirts). So basically I figure 3 GM tailors running macros around the clock, an easy 150 - 200k an hour.

You can make that much tailoring some leather items. However, in order to reach GM tailoring you need gold to raise the skill up. This guide is for making money when you have no money. Also, the problem with this is that the shopkeepers will stop buying very quickly.

Re: The True Newbie guide to making gold fast.

Another suggestion I'd like to make is for people to keep in mind that when you're having trouble getting vendors to buy, try the lesser traveled towns that don't have moongates.

What do you make to do that?

Use the razor sell agent. Target the fancy shirt, sell max 1, then everytime you say "vendor sell" you will automatically sell 1. Whenever you get your bod, just set max sell to 99 and sell them all.
