Master lockpickers are invaluable for treasure hunting expeditions, dungeon crawling, and accessing secured areas. The skill pairs perfectly with Remove Trap for complete chest access.

Core Mechanics

Basic Usage

  • Tool Required: Lockpicks (consumed on failure)
  • Target: Locked containers or doors
  • Picking Time: 3-second delay
  • Break Chance: 25% on failure
  • Range: Adjacent (1 tile)

Success Rate

Success based on lock difficulty versus skill level
  • Minimum Required: Must have skill ≥ RequiredSkill
  • Success Range: LockLevel to MaxLockLevel
  • Special Locks: Level 0 = unpickable
  • Magic Lock: Level -255 (requires Magic Unlock)
