Tbh honest, oil brings a lot of disgrace to this planet.
I dont think oil is what should concern us right now.

Yea, and it hasn't even been used for that long if you think about it, and look how much the world "relies" on it.

We have enough oil to last until estimated 2048. Unless American Government is lying.. again.. That's what I mean, it's not about the facts but opinions and feelings. That oil is no secret, I don't see how anyone can deny it, who told you it's not there?

And even that is not the whole thing, as we have only surveyed for oil in very limited areas that were permitted by governments. And when you get permission to look for oil, it's very-very expensive [here in the US] for just the permits and impact reports, taking years, before it is even certain that there is oil in that location (I worked for an oil company). Part of the reason the oil companies have been making profits the past few years is due to not looking for oil as much any longer... as if they could. In the US we cant even refine our own oil, cant build refineries, we are shipping refined gas/oil in as our refineries run at 100% and have been for years. It's all a mess.

On top of it, the whole science is just wrong! It's not science but backwards superstition! Oil is not from animal or vegetable, but inorganic produced within the earth. There is no freeking way you can get massive amounts of organic material 1000's of feet down under the ground. Oil doesn't even travel down but up, and if you ever saw a site as I have where it was just bubbling out of the ground it's make you think twice.

It's just more hokey "science" just like GlObAl WWaRmInG! Oh run for the hills, dig a pit and hide in it, then put your head between your knees and kiss your ass goodbye, global warming is coming for us... opps well guess that is in error... oh no it's that we are running out of oil now!!! An this isn't one in the same???? The same SOB's that have made fortunes behind the global warming scam also making money behind oil regulation which too is big business?

In the end it drives us all to war. All driven by environmental impact reports and governments with their hands in the pots of every aspect of energy production which is more profitable if the prices are kept high just like the diamond market. But soon enough all our fiat money will fail and the flow of food will end, then war will come. Of course war is not a bad thing for all, it just bring more power to those with power, those that are moving things already as we sheeple slumber.

Well that's cute and all, but I'm not sure what it has to do with what I posted. All I gotta say is follow the money. Look at the peeps behind all this mass histaria junk (ie Global warming, oil, 2012) and you will find the same people getting rich and powerful off the mass hysteria farce, same people and their friends. We can go on pretending I'm sure, been doing it since the 70's, then let it all revolve in again and again just getting closer to their goals. I don't really bother to educate anyone on the issues any longer, even with global warming I practically get called baby killer and junk in the past. Same peeps spitting at soldiers, calling anyone that disagrees with them murderers, but now they want war because it's good for them, their politicians got power and support it so they go along with it. Just too many people taking drugs, can't think right any longer, cant reason for themselves, all too phony.

Any way, I guarantee we will pass 2012, but really not sure how much further past.

this may also be what caused the extintion of the dinossaurs. Anyway, our planet wont vanish, but maybe the human race will not survive.
But i think i would love to see this "end". The human race has already messed up too much with this planet. Maybe its really our time to leave.

There's much more evidence that the extinction of the dinosaurs was due to a large meteorite (also what caused the splitting up of Pangea)

Re: will we make it to 2012?

Humans have alot more to worry about when it comes to the topic of global warming and oil.

We're more capable of reason and logic than any other species in existence, yet such a small percent of us actually exercise both or even one of these.

We also have this warped view on possession and what actually belongs to us. For example.. just because you buy an $100,000 patch of land from the government it then belongs to you? What made it the governments possession in the first place? In the past just because the Americas were discovered by man they're now our possession to pawn off to the highest bidder?

The more I think about humans the more I realize what a pathetic species we are. Humans need to change their overall way of thinking. This is the only way any beneficial changes could be made. Actions speak louder than words, but the two go so hand in hand that you should never have one without the other. I'd go so far to argue that you can't even have actions without words.

I'm open to the idea that a part of evolution could include mental features as well as physical features. Obviously a shift in global mindset is incredibly unlikely. However, it's been known to occur that for the survival of species 'mother nature' adds evolutionary traits to a species monumental to its survival. Perhaps one day mother nature will evolve our brains to think more rationally, reasonably, and logically? I'll leave it at that, but it's interesting to speculate on..

I do think it's bull, I'll get into the reasoning and evidence later if I have the time.

I'd rather have people react. Peak oil could be the chance for a socialist revolution. What's the point in just blindly carrying on supporting the corpocracy and corrupt govt?

You are wrong sir. Recent researches pointed out that it probably wasnt a meteor.
And the splitting up of Pangea is exactly what is going to happen again if the earths rotation inverts.
Again, im not saying that my geologist friend is right, but im im starting to believe hes not.

Another point, is that i find ridiculous our megalomaniac way to be concerned about the planet.
The planet itself is much more strong than we can imagine and could vanish our race from it in a matter of seconds. We should worry about the human race and we are doing to ourselves not to the planet. The planet will be fine. We wont.

umm... we don't buy land from the government. I'm not sure where you are coming from (communist?)... the lands of the US are not in dispute. My 12ga says my house is my house, and if anyone want's to dispute my deed, well they just need step inside :D

You absolutely missed the point I was trying to make. It was merely an example, and you CAN buy land from the government, inasmuch as the government owns land and sometimes sells it. This is beyond the point I was trying to make though.

If you're going to deem me a possible communist and not think critically about what I'm trying to say I'll throw it even further into laymen's terms. You buy a $150,000 house and property from a local real estate group. What made it theirs to begin with? Because they paid money for it and a piece of paper says it so? In normal society obviously no one is going to dispute this, but from a moral standpoint it's total bullshit. Manmade objects (currency, paper) therefore may deem areas of this planet in our possession? We're one of the most recent species to start inhabiting this earth, yet we go around claiming things left and right like they belong to us. Sad.

As I said before, humans have this pathetic view on possessions and are attached by the hip to them.

My point exactly. Here's what will happen, according to history:

Oil ends. FUDEU DE VEZ!

We:
- Adapt and start using metal / wood / etc. to make what we need that was previously made from plastic and oil variants. Bye forests.
- Kill ourselves (even more) for resources.

However, I have a few reasons to believe oil will last for quite a few more generations:

Plastic hasn't skyrocketed in price.
Neither has bubblegums.
Neither has gas. Yeah, it's a little more expensive now, but nothing absurd enough to capable of leaving people unable to run their vehicles.

I could be wrong, mind you.

It's just a stall tactic to keep us distracted while they convert to Brawndo. (it's got electrolytes)

Sorry, thought an Idiocracy reference would fit well in this thread.

Well, I didn't accuse you of being a commie. There is a difference between a "?" and a "!". Shall I mind read you before using question marks? Are you saying I should automatically know where you are coming from on the issues? Can we please stop the world from rotating around ourselves? ;)

So you are nothing but an animal you say? Is that what they taught you in school? And people wonder why school shootings happen now, after all we are just animals, right? You can't have it both ways, it's simply not logical. Moral and ethical animals? Nope.
