do you ask for forgiveness after you have done theese wrongs?

Well, of course I ask for forgiveness, but I also ask for strength to not do them again. Sure, if you see what I do as pointless then I don't mind, but asking for forgiveness is a morethanobvious way of seeing that I DO, in fact, have guilt.

If I do wrong to someone, I will go up to them in person and ask them for their forgiveness. If they choose not to then I will say I understand... but it's not my choice for them to forgive me. I know that once I got mad and said some really hateful things to a friend, when I went up to them, apologized, and asked for forgiveness in front of other people... she was more than willing to accept me back as a friend and I haven't done anything like that since.

It makes me feel good more than just "at the end of the day". Church is a once a week thing. It's a reminder of what someone believes, nothing more and nothing less. When I go I remember what I believe and I feel satisfied with it. I remember how I don't need all the materialistic things that others have and feel like they need in their lives... I guess this is a good time to say, "to each his own..."

What makes you happy, if it's looking up porn and masturbating to it [not saying it is just an i.e.], then that's your prerogative.

Re: How many of you are religious!

This thread is fast moving, so I had to skim a bit, but I think I'm caught up.

I'm going to start by saying, even though it doesn't matter, that I have gained a lot of respect for some people in this thread.

To those that say religion is bullshit, fake, or a fairy-tale: How do you know you're alive, right now? How are you certain you exist in this reality? How do you know that those scientists you believe in are more correct than the priests of religion? Go ahead and answer those, then compare your answers with those of religious person.

To insult or demean a person based on his system of belief is hypocritical because you can never be sure your system of belief is correct. Prove me wrong. Science is a religion.

The two most overwhelming traits for humanity are fear and laziness. To combat both, you need acceptance and purpose. Both religion and science offer this solution. They offer explanations on reality. These explanations are based on the observations of its followers. You can never know if the color I see as blue is the same color you see as blue, such is the same with reality.

Some believe in science. Some believe in religion. Many try to form a hybrid of both. But the goal is acceptance of existence, elimination of the fear of death, and motivation to experience life.

True believers, of any system of belief, accomplish this. No one system is, or ever could be, better than another. Prove me wrong.

Jesus Christ being devine depends on the religion. Christianity believes he was devine, Islam and the Jewish religion do not. They believe there was a Jesus Christ and that he was a prophet, but he was not the only son of God.

If you're going to generalize all religions then perhaps you should make your statements less specific. Otherwise you need to pic a religion when talking about specific details because not all religions think and believe the same thing.

yes reading that again i see that i may have been leading to christianity. sorry for that i will be more carefull next time.

I'd pick option 1, but it doesn't cover everything. I don't follow a religion, but that doesn't make someone atheist. Therefore I make option 4: Agnostic.

i forgot to make that option. oops sorry for that.

Not everyone in here is Christian. Perhaps you should backtrack a little. Yes, I am Catholic, which is basically a branch of Christian.

I'm not raging, I'm just defending what I believe. If you're going to come at me with knives, I'm going to put a shield up. It's only natural :>

i think you have that backwards. Catholics came first.

No man, you're wrong. Think of Christianity as the umbrella under which all religions that believe Jesus is the son of God fall. Catholicism was the first of these religions, but people were believing that Jesus was the son of God before he was crucified, thus they were Christians.

Re: How many of you are religious!

Wow, I left for lunch and came back to 100 more posts on this.

Whether or not we agree with other beliefs shouldn't matter; it is how we manage to get along with each other despite the differences.

Although I am what some would call border line atheist (I'm not, I have agnostic views towards theism), I take comfort with some of my friends who are fairly religious. Some of the few people I know that follow and practice their beliefs because they want to follow the "good of man" practices and accept all forms of life styles and forgiveness.

I really do. I also take comfort and am honored when people say they will pray for me in hard times. It is a sign of good will and if you ask me? Good will towards man while not harming anyone is always a plus in my views.
